The details that change a quote
Generator size is only one cost factor. Distance from the service, trenching, pad or mounting work, transfer equipment, gas or propane coordination, site access, cold-weather accessories, panel changes, and permit requirements can materially change the project.
Portable generators and backfeeding
Never connect a portable generator to household wiring through a receptacle or improvised cord. Unsafe backfeeding can energize lines outside the home and endanger occupants and utility workers. Use only properly installed transfer or interlock equipment approved for the application.

Sizing without an inflated number
